Why Spirituality started in India

Is it quite possible that spirituality us so prominent in India and the Sanatan philosophy because we were the first society which prospered, reached zeniths of civilization, raised and nurtured families amidst rich fertile plains and green flora and fauna. And we also saw destruction, kings falling in battle, rich becoming destitute due to tides and maybe even sudden deaths due to natural causes or disasters. Probably this may have led to do the thought that life and its glitter is ephemeral. One moment you may have everything and the next moment all may have been lost. Maybe this propelled the learned of those days to enquire about existence and seek the source of all the joys and sorrows. Maybe this is why seer's renunciate their happy lives and went deep into jungles and mountains to meditate. Maybe this is why Rama needed a lesson from Vashista when he went into deep thoughts about life or Arjun needed the Krishan Geeta Upadesh when he saw the futility of life at the threshold of a deadly battle. Maybe this is why Gautama Buddha also sought Moksha, letting go of his princely life.

Those times we did not have a path to the starts via building spaceships. In the western societies which have become rich and have "relatively" achieved what they could do on earth, the discovery of the physical "fact based" truth is being sought by their space endeavours. That is the trajectory they have mastered. Via the same rational once can say the ancient Indians (or maybe even the later ancient Greeks) sought "enquiry within" , as their appetite seemed full of the "earthly pursuits".
